Halloween fun

October has been fun and the weather has been very warm, so we've been taking advantage and getting out a lot.  We spent a morning at the Dixon Pumpkin Patch and had a great time! It was hot, but enjoyable and even better since Kevin could be there with us.  The kids picked out their own pumpkins and wanted little baby ones, so we decided to paint them instead of carve them (since there's not much to carve).

We also had our ward Fall Festival Saturday night.  We were on the planning committee so we spent a good chunk of the day setting up and taking down at the church.  The kids had a good time though, and our costumes were fun!  Kevin and I went as Chinese geisha and sushi chef and McKinley was our little sushi roll.  Kassidy was Ariel and Korbin was Superman. We are all ready for Halloween tomorrow!

Happy Halloween everyone!

McKinley photos

I took McKinley for her newborn photo shoot this past week at my friend Constance Reid's house.  She always does a great job with my kids!  Of course for the newborn photo shoots she usually wants the baby to be sleeping so she can pose them and move them all over.  My children never seem to cooperate though! Korbin did the same thing when I took him for his photos 2 years ago.  I actually love the open eye photos more though because I love to see their sweet little spirits peeking through those eyes.  Here are just a few of the pics.  I love them all! McKinley has been such a joy in our live these past 3 weeks and we are so happy she's ours.

This hat was made by Kevin's sister Kim.  She does an amazing job! You can see some of her work here at her etsy shop, Cottoncorner.

Welcome McKinley!

On September 28th we welcomed the newest member of our family, miss McKinely Rose made her debut appearance at 7:05 am at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, weighing 7 lbs 14 oz and measuring 20 in.  That's right, we had a girl!!  I was 98% positive that we were having a boy, and even though we didn't find out the gender before hand, Kevin was pretty positive too.  The only one who stayed firm with a vote for a girl was Kassidy.  She prayed for a sister the whole time and was certain that's what we were getting.  She was right!

I went into labor at 1:30 am when my water broke.  I called my aunt to come over and be with the kids and we arrived at the hospital at 4 am.  I was dilated to 8 cm when we got there and I quickly requested my epidural :) It was a short couple hours before baby girl came into the world.  We were so thrilled to find out she was a girl!  We wanted to be surprised, and we sure were. Kevin was a great support to me through all the labor and delivery.

Here's a picture overload from our hospital stay.  McKinley has been such a joy to have in our family this past week!   We love her to pieces and feel so blessed to be her parents.  Kassidy loves her sister so much and asks to hold her every spare minute she can.  Korbin still hasn't asked to hold her and keeps calling her "Luke" which is my brother's little boy.  I think he thinks she's going to go away soon and isn't a permanent fixture in our family.  But he's not been aggressive or anything so I'm sure he'll adapt.  We are all doing well, just a little sleep deprived, but well.  More posts to come!

 She has hair!!
 Proud papa :)

 I can't believe I have 3 kids...
I love this picture of my two girls.  It shows how excited Kassidy was to have a sister.

This nurse was too cute and let Kassidy do a check up on McKinley and give her first bath.

Going home! Can't believe we get to keep her :)
