Funny girl

Kassidy is just so darn vocal and smart that I'm never sure what will come out of her mouth. I was having the usually nightly battle to brush her teeth and losing horribly. I resulted to telling her just a little mommy-fib:

ME: We need to brush your teeth because there are little bugs on them and that's yucky.

Kassidy: Ewww, like crabs?

She ended up letting me brush the bugs off, thank goodness. What a funny girl!

Best kid ever :)

Today I tiptoed in Kassidy's room during her nap to kiss her angelic little face and whisper, "I love you" in her ear. I can't believe how beautiful my little girl is. She's growing up too fast and has such a spunky little personality. It's been one of those days where I am just so grateful for my little girl and what a good kid she is. Kassidy has one amazing imagination; I found her in my room yesterday playing with two bottles of nail polish remover which she had named daddy and mommy, and she had lined up all the nail polish bottles and they were the children. I sat and watched her play for 5 minutes and loved the little dialogue she came up with. I can't wait to see how she grows and learns in the future and I am so blessed to be her mother. I think I learn more from her than I actually teach her. And I couldn't ask for an easier child, which ultimately means that I'll have a devil child somewhere down the line, right?

Too cute, Kassidy wanted to do her homework just like daddy, so we set up her table in by daddy.

Labor Day Weekend

I sure am grateful for Labor Day, just to have a day off from doing the same old thing. I was able to talk Kevin into leaving his studies for a few hours to go and do something as a family, and I'm so glad we did. Being poor and still pretty unfamiliar with our new state, we decided to go explore one of California's many state parks. We made our way to China Camp State Park located in the San Francisco Bay area. It was a beautiful little park with hiking trails and beaches that were beautiful. We didn't stay long, but the time we spent together at the old China shrimp fishery was fun. Here are a few pictures.

Whitecoat ceremony

So when I said we hadn't had anything interesting going on around here, I totally spaced it that we just had Kevin's whitecoat ceremony last week. This was a pretty neat ceremony they held at his school where the entire class was recognized and given their new pharmacist lab coats. A pharmacist representative put the coat on them and then they shook hands with the dean. Then the class repeated the pharmacist pledge and oath, which was pretty neat to hear. You don't really think much about pharmacist doing what doctors do, but the oath said a lot about their commitment to the welfare of humanity and relief of suffering. It was pretty neat and we couldn't be prouder of our Kevin!! I only wish that we weren't so far away so some of our family could have been here to see Kevin on his special day. He's been working really hard for the past 3 weeks at school and I know that Kevin will be a great student and future pharmacist. We love you babe!

Daddy's #1 fans!

This is Kevin's Utah friend, Cort Welker. He's married and a really nice guy, and one of the only other white guys in Kevin's class. Naturally they have become good buddies.

Still here

So nothing much new is happening here. We're still just plugging away at school and I'm busy doing nothing all day with Kassidy. It gets kind of tedious, but I love that I get to be with her all day. Kevin's working really hard at pharmacy and has decided it's definitely harder than undergrad! We have a new nephew, Kamdon Kent Marchant was born on the 25th to Kevin's brother Kent. We're so excited for them and wish we could be there with them. He and Kassidy won't see each other much for the next 4 years since they moved to Boston for dental school. I don't have any fun pictures or really anything to update on right now, but we're still here!
