Good day :)

Thank you spring for finally showing up! It was such a glorious day today and we took advantage of the weather by spending most of the day outside. And the day was even better because I wore some boy shorts today that I wore my senior year in high school! Wahoo! Men won't understand this, but it feels good to be able to fit in clothes I wore 5 years ago.

Time for an update

I've been a slacker lately and haven't posted anything that's been going on, although I have to admit that we don't have the most interesting lives. We did have a wonderful Easter here at home with just our little family. We went to the city Easter egg hunt with the rest of the crazy town. It was snowy and freezing but we had a good time madly dashing for candy filled eggs. We had a mini egg hunt at our house and received our baskets along with Whitney. We decided to start doing the fun stuff on Saturday so we could enjoy the spirit of Easter on Sunday. Here's my pretty little girl in her Easter dress. She was being such a ham, I had a hard time getting a pretty pose out of her.
In other news, Kevin's sister Kelli and her family came down for a visit this weekend so had a blast down in St. George with them. Spring weather has finally appeared and so we took advantage and played in the water all day. We went to that fun little river rock park by the tabernacle and had a picnic while the kids played in the water. Then we made our way to the Washington Community Center and played in the very cool indoor pool. It has a lazy river, splash pads, tube slide and kid playground. We had a wonderful time and of course I forgot to take my camera.
Kassidy loved hanging out with her aunt Kelli and the spent most of Saturday making faces at each other like this one! It was cute and funny to watch them communicate.
Also, our next door neighbors and friends had their baby! Welcome to the world Kaven! We stopped by for a quick visit and he's sure a cutie, good work guys.

Conference Weekend

Despite the downpour of snow Friday (thanks Mother Nature) and me being sick, we had a wonderful Conference weekend. My mom and brother and sister came down for a visit and spent some fun time with us. My little brother Daniel (11) was so cute with Kassidy. She just adores her uncle Danny and followed him around all weekend. Poor kid didn't even get a break when he went to the bathroom! Kassidy would sit outside the door and cry until he came back out. It was pretty cute!

We did a little girls night shopping on Saturday night and went to see Monsters vs. Aliens at the theater (very cute by the way). Kassidy was really good at the movie, making me think we might go again in her lifetime. We basically spent the entire weekend watching television and eating good food. But it was good tv, so I didn't mind. Thanks mom for coming down! Here are some pictures of our weekend:

Thanks for being such a good sport Daniel! Kassidy sure loves you :)

Tough mommy week

I fear that the "2's" are almost upon us at the Marchant home. Looking back on this week I see a frustrated mommy, a demanding little person, and a working daddy. I'm really happy about the working daddy part because as many of you know, Kevin has been out of work since Christmas. Unfortunately, daddy back at work means the Kassidy and I are spending much too much time together at the daycare. For those of you who just gasped at me, thinking I'm the worst mom ever, let me illustrate: Being a mommy is hard enough when you get to be on your own home turf and your child eats in their chair and sleeps in their bed. Now they may have a sibling or two to compete with (we're not quite there yet), but the environment is much more inviting and relaxing. Now picture a room full of 10 kidlets, aged 1-2 and two teachers--one of them is your mommy. Kassidy and I are there almost 35 hours a week and it's been getting harder and harder lately. Kass throws the biggest fits anytime I pick up another child or don't let her steal desired toys. It's also much easier to be patient with other kids because I don't know what their home life is like, whereas I know that Kassidy KNOWS BETTER and I don't let her get away with terrible behavior. Anyway, I'm just coming home pooped and needing some adult mommy time. But oddly, when we get home and it CAN be just me and Kass, she wants nothing to do with me! She'd rather play alone in her room...I don't get it! Actually, I do. It's the always wanting what you don't have thing...only it's magnified because she's almost 2 years old.
This picture has nothing to with my post, it was just a cute picture of my little monster playing baseball with Daddy-O.
