Karina's Wedding

We have had a busy few weeks, hence my lack of posts.  I'm back though and ready to update for myself as well as anyone who cares to read what we've been up to!  We went out to Utah for a couple weeks for weddings galore, first my step-brother, then my cousin, then my baby sister! It was a wonderful couple weeks and I'm so glad we could be there for it all.  I've posted 5 posts, so scroll down if you want.

We started the week out with a trip to the salon. Karina had a really bad black hair dye job from a "friend" and she desperately needed it fixed before her big day. So she and I spent a couple hours together giggling about girl stuff...so fun!
Random shot of the kids playing in grandma's backyard. We were without Kevin for the first week so the kids and I really missed him!  It was the longest they've ever gone without their daddy, so when he arrived on Thursday we were all so giddy and glad to see him :)
We had some fabulous help decorating for the wedding and I think it turned out spectacularly! Here's grandma Hicken, aunt Jennette (who was a trooper to come and do it all again after just finishing throwing her daughter's wedding the week before) and my cute mom.
Aunt Kelli is a pro at the arch decorating, which she also did for my wedding.
The men were the superstars of the day! I came up with the lights on the ceiling idea and then turned the logistics over to Kevin to figure out.  He was awesome!  It looked so good when we were done.
 Cutest little helper ever!

 Looks good huh?

Karina and Justin's wedding was at the Manti temple, so we hit 3 temples in one week.  I made the kids outfits so they would match the color scheme, which was very fun.
My little brother Kevin and his "mini-me" Luke looking very serious.
 Wahoo! They're married!

FYI, I'm 20 weeks pregnant, not just fat :)

 All the grandparents
Doesn't get cuter than these two!!

We had a little car trouble on the way to the reception.  Just added to the craziness of the day.

Karina, we are all so happy for you and your sweet husband Justin.  He's perfect for you and we wish you the best in your eternity together!

There are 4 more posts below if you want to take a peek at all the previous weddings!

Emily's wedding

Twas the weekend of weddings in Utah.  The following day was my cousin Emily's wedding in Logan.  She's been more like a sister to me since we moved out to California, so I was really glad we could make it.

Sisters Jenny, Karina and Justin.  Their wedding was the following week.
My little brother Daniel and Korbin. Korbin loves his uncle "Dan-O".

Beautiful Emily after coming out of the temple.
 I love the mother-daughter shots :)

Congrats to Emily and Isaac! We wish you the best!

Devin's Wedding

We spent our first day in Utah with my step-brother Devin as he married his sweetheart Brook.  She is a very sweet girl and I look forward to getting to know her more in the future. Their wedding was in Salt Lake and was very beautiful :)
My step sister Samantha and little sister Jenny watched the kids while we were in the sealing.

My sweet grandpa Hicken performed the sealing which made it even more special.
Gotta have a snack break while waiting for the bride and groom to come out.
 I have the cutest grandma!!
It was a "beautiful people" wedding.  I felt like I just stepped out of the Breaking Dawn wedding family :)

Bad breath

Last month my aunt and uncle had an extra ticket to go see a Jim Gaffigan comedy show in San Francisco and I got to go! It was the first adult night out I've had in a looooong time! We had so much fun too.  The show was great and very family friendly and afterwards we drove around downtown S.F. and ate dinner at "The Stinking Rose" in little Italy.  Everything was smothered in garlic, so I came home with some pretty bad breath :) I tried to share some rolls with Kevin so he wouldn't notice so much, but he wasn't biting. We also wandered around a bookstore and stayed out until about 12:30.  I felt so grown up (and tired)! Thanks Hickens!

Temple trips

One of our favorite things to do is go to the Oakland temple as a family.  When Kevin and I can't find a babysitter, we just go together and take turns doing initiatories.  This has turned out to be a really neat family experience and the kids really love wandering around the temple grounds and exploring the visitor center.  This day was particularly beautiful with all the spring flowers in bloom.
