Matt you will be missed!

Matt we love you and will miss you! We look forward to that day that we will be reunited again! Thanks for the memories!

Ryan Matthew Marchant, age 36, was born May 15, 1974 and returned home to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on May 31, 2010 after a valiant battle with melanoma. Matt is the son of Kent and Danielle Marchant, brother to Brian, Jason, Traci Welker, Katie Martin (Alan) and father to Caden Patey. Matt graduated from Orem High School and seminary. Matt enjoyed the mountains where he found solitude and appreciated the beauty and wildlife.

He loved his horse, "Pepper", and his dog "Bodie". He loved the farm where he spent countless hours hunting, fishing and roaming the hills. Matt worked several years for Truss Works as well as several years for Skip Dunn, where he became a pro at excavation. He readied the grounds all over the valley and lovingly was called "Burley" by his coworkers. Matt was a man of his word and a loyal friend. He especially loved his family.

I'm guessing it's Kevin's cousin? I'm so sorry! It's so hard to be separated from those we love, even though we know it's temporary. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers.

Matt will surely be missed. The funeral was amazing. He definitely touched many lives and had so many people who loved him. Kent gave such a powerful testimony of the power of the Atonement the gift of the resurrection and the plan our Heavenly Father has for us. I can't imagine anyone could have walked away from that doubting. (Wow Wow Wow!) Brian gave an amazing eulogy as well I was so impressed. He spoke of the example Matt was to him. He talked about there life growing up. Brian spoke of a promise he made to Matt to finish school and not quit. I wish him the best I went away from that experience with a deep appreciation for my Heavenly Father. I cannot help but think that though Matt will be dearly missed his death was not in vain and he has inspired us to be better. He is a strength to his family and the Glue that will hold things together.
