Trying new things

If you had asked me a few months ago how I felt about skinny jeans, I would have given you an earful about the horrible style, how unflattering they are on almost every body type, the bizarre colors they come in, and how I would never be caught DEAD in a pair. So why is that I now have not one pair in my closet, but two?

I love the comment that they are called skinny jeans, not wish-you-were-skinny jeans! So why have I caved and got myself some? I'm not really sure. I think maybe curiosity had something to do with it. Why would so many women wear them if they were too horrible? Second, I've reached pre-pregnancy weight and I'm very bored with my wardrobe (what is it about getting back to your desired clothesize that makes you want new clothes?). Finally, a bargain was what initially got me into the pants. I found a pair of skinny jeans from Target for a mere $7.00. Who can pass up a bargain like that?! Isn't it sad that an inexpensive price tag changed my cemented opinion of something? Well, I guess I'm just cheap :)

As for the pants, they're not as bad as I first supposed. I think I'll occasionally wear them, as long as my behind is covered by a longer shirt or sweater. I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the "skinny trend".

I am with you-I was really hesitant, but now I actually really like the ones I have. I got my first pair for a mere 7.00 as well, but I definitely feel most comfortable with a big long top and depending on the outfit some big boots-I feel like I look less lopsided :). I am sure you look fabulous!!

Way to go on trying something new! I own a pair of skinny jeans and I like them. They're fun and trendy! Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in a fashion slump and I dress so boring. Trying new things, like wearing skinny jeans, makes me feel like I'm a bit more hip!lol

This post made me laugh! I was in Jr High when "pegged pants", as we called them, were in style. several years ago when they were starting to show back up I made my friend make a pact with me that we would never let our daughters wear them! Needless to say, Halley has many pair and is adorable in them, and I know you are too! As for me...heck no! That would be scary.

I still hate them! I would be like you and ONLY wear them with a longer shirt covering my behind. I think 98% of everyone who wears them look horrible! I will never understand. Skinny on the lower leg=gigantic looking around the hips to me! My friends keep telling me how badly I need to buy a pair, I just say "I don't like them on me" because I don't want to tell them "I don't like them on anybody!"

I don't own any either for the same reasons you stated. I just can't imagine me looking good in a pair. I feel like they would just make me feel rounder in the middle. I don't need that. I say you should post some pics. :)
